Because we are more than peaches and more than preserves, at Aconcagua we respond to the need of our clients and consumers. Learn about all our brands and their product portfolios here:
Aconcagua Foods owns around 1482 acres (600 hectares) of its own fields, planted with canning peaches.
GLOBAL GAP LOGOS - GRASP All of them have GRASP certification issued by GLOBAL G.A.P., which guarantees the food safety and security of our agricultural production; the traceability management of our peaches and compliance with social responsibility with agricultural workers.
We also have an agricultural technology transfer alliance between Chile and Argentina, which has allowed us to innovate in the field and increasingly seek processes that contribute to efficiency and production.
We have incorporated new varieties of trees from Spain and South Africa. Due to their natural characteristics, they allow us to increase the volume of harvest that without affecting our high quality standards.
Our management strategy allows an optimal harvest and natural development of the plant, giving it space for correct growth and producing larger size and better quality peaches.
Low-lying orchards make harvesting easier. Likewise, its high density gives us more plants and fruit of greater caliber and quality, although in smaller quantities.
We use telemetry to monitor variables such as temperature, pressure, level and others, which has allowed us to increase production efficiency in our fields. In this way we also maintain balanced nutrition of our fields, based on analysis of the water, soil and plant.
Our focus is to minimize the use of chemical pesticides and promote the biological balance of the soil, plants and environment. For this we use justified monitoring and control (only applied if pests are present). This leads to a low level of residues in fruit and therefore less contamination of it.
Through these five cornerstones we can summarize our responsible and high-quality production of peaches and other canned fruits.
Our canning plant concentrates its production between the months of December and March. It receives more than a thousand collaborators, who dedicate their efforts to the production of peaches; as well as strawberries, peas, among others.
This plant produces tomato derivatives throughout the year, such as ketchup, pizza sauce and tomato sauces in different varieties and formats.
Our frozen plant produces IQF (Individual Quick Frozen) fruits and vegetables.
Today we process tomatoes, peppers, onions, among others.
In it we produce more than 17 thousand tons of pulp per year. Our main products are fruit pulps such as peach, apricot, apple, pear, plum and strawberry, among others.
Here 80% of the packaging we use in the production of our preserves is produced.
This plant has a biological purification system, which allows us to treat our liquid industrial waste resulting from production processes.
During the canning season, this plant returns up to 11 thousand cubic meters of water per day to the Paine Canal.
We control 100% of our production chain, from the field to the point of sale.
In 2020, continuing with our goal of remaining a leading company in innovation, we decided to remodel and restructure our Research and Development laboratory. In it we continue developing new products to respond quickly and effectively to the needs of both the national and international markets.
Quality is our commitment and the only way to maintain our high standards is to keep working hard to reach innovation in products, processes and technologies that contribute positively to our clients and consumers.
